High gain preamplifier tube with a unique spiral filament, top-notch materials and shorter plate structure resulting in supreme microphonic performance. For more clean headroom in your amp, order this tube with the low gain option at no extra cost.(Similar to an NOS 5751 in gain without the price tag). Subject to availability). Avoid these in high voltage cathode follower (CF)spots.

Deluxe Reverb reissue Review by Jacob
Hello, I received the EH 6V6 last night and popped them in my Deluxe Reverb Reissue. The sound is nice - much smoother than the JJ 6V6 I had in there previously. The JJ are a bit louder, but also brighter/harsher - not the best match for a clean, mellow jazz style with a Gibosn ES-335 with humbuckers.
The EH 12ax7 replaced a JJ 5751 in my V1 stage. All around, a much smoother, somewhat darker sound - just what I was looking for!
Thanks. (Posted on 2/17/20)
Great All Around Tube Review by David S.
I purchased a bunch of these from Doug years ago, and some more recently, and they are just great all around tubes. Very balanced sounding. They are a good choice for pretty much every position, except Cathode Followers.

These are my choice for phase inverters in darker sounding amps. (Posted on 6/28/17)
Fender Pro Reverb Review by Mat
Hello Doug, I have to say your Mullard ri and ehx preamp recommendation for my old pro reverb delivers the goods. Once again you knocked it out of the park.

Micro Terror Review by Roger
I installed this tube in my Orange Micro Terror today (6/11/14). It has more gain and power than the stock tube. Great sound! (Posted on 6/12/14)
Deep bass Review by ger
Just received a matched pair of these for the first stage of my Fisher 500 C receiver, which has been rebuilt and retubed a number of times. Nevertheless, was startled at the addition of what seems like another octave of deep, crisp bass. Previous 12AX7s in the system were RCA NOS, one of which had gotten noisy. (Posted on 10/2/12)
