Stock (Original) -
Our "Stock" tube kit comes with the exact same tubes that Peavey stocks the Peavey 5150 with, however that are re-labeled Sovtek. Pick this tube kit if you're tubes have worn out and you happy with the way your amp sounded before. Stock tubes are always subject to change by the manufacturer.
Our "metal" amp tube kit is designed to produce the thicker, darker, metal distortion. Read any message board and you'll find that the Ruby 6L6GC-CZ's are great for metal. Since the Peavey 5150 has two channels, we've supplied the first two preamp spots with high gain Ruby 7025SS HG's. The rest of the slots are stocked with Sovtek 12AX7WC's and LPS for the phase inverter slot.
Rock / Blues -
Our "rock" amp tube kit is designed to produce fuller bodied tones, for more rich, dynamic sounds when picking or strumming. For power tubes, we suggest the Ruby 6L6GCMSTR's. These tubes can supply a nice wall of sound that is three dimensional. For the preamp section, the Tung-Sol 12AX7 will add a nice, warm crunch, and the Chinese Penta 12AX7's will add some warm needed for Rock and Blues players. Finally, we suggest a Sovtek LPS 12AX7 for the phase inverter for optimal performance.

- Peavey 5150 Review by Rick
Just got the new Ruby 6L6GCMSTR's and the Tung-sol 12ax7 from you guys and I'm very pleased with my amp now! Thanks so much for your tube recommendation and service.
Not only do I have a clean channel now, but a really versatile one. The lead channel is just killer now. Your website was also extremely helpful.
Before I came across your site, I was under the impression that I would need to take my amp to a tech, and that it would be expensive. I could have done this years ago. Thanks again, I will recommend you to all my guitar player buddies.
