The Penta KT66 is probably one of the most reliable and great sounding KT66's out there, very close to the real thing. Made by the Shuguang factory in China for Penta Labs, and copied off the original GEC KT66. Not a reworked KT88 with a metal base like some recent faux KT66's.

Another satisfied Marshall Vintage Modern guy. I tried the Gold Lions and while they sound good, big full sound, to me they were kind of hi-fi sounding.
These Penta/Shuguangs make this amp sound like a Marshall, not a hi-fi tube audio amp. Awesome for JTM plexi tones. (Posted on 5/12/12)
