Gold Lion KT88
In 1957 Marconi-Osram Valve Co. (Genalex) introduced the "King of Power Tubes", the legendary Gold Lion KT88. This tube became the heart and soul of such classics as the Dynaco Mark III, McIntosh MC275, and Marshall Major. Unfortunately, Genalex ceased tube production in the early 1980s and the Genalex Gold Lion KT88 has become very expensive and hard to find.

These are also made by Shuguang, but with a 3 hole plate. Similar to the Valve Art KT88. The Shuguang KT88's are among the finest current production KT88's available with excellent reliability, focused soundstage, wide linear frequency response, and tight focused low end.

This new production tube is manufactured at the New Sensor Corp. Vacuum Tube Valley reviewed this tube and found it to be the best budget 6550 available. They noted it's smooth, liquid bass, natural sound, and openness.
